Gen Z Protesters Storm Nepal’s Federal Parliament Amid Escalating Unrest

Protesters from the ongoing Gen Z-led movement reportedly forced their way into the Federal Parliament building on Tuesday, escalating the demonstrations that began after Monday’s police crackdown.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that demonstrators breached parts of the parliamentary complex in Kathmandu, pressing forward with their campaign against corruption, political disorder, and government-imposed restrictions. This is the second consecutive day that the Federal Parliament compound has been stormed. On Monday, clashes with security forces turned deadly when police opened fire, killing 19 people and injuring nearly 500.

The Federal Parliament—widely seen as the core institution of Nepal’s democratic framework—has now emerged as a central and highly symbolic stage for the ongoing protests.
